With only 4 ingredients, this delicious blueberry margarita recipe comes together in a matter of minutes. Simple, smooth, and sweet!
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup tequila
- 1/2 cup simple syrup, (see note 1)
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- lime slices
- sugar, to rim glasses
Put all the margarita ingredients in a blender. Blend until the blueberries have broken down and are well combined (about 15-30 seconds).
Place a mesh strainer on top of a pitcher or large measuring cup (see note 2). Slowly pour the mixture into the strainer. Use a spatula or spoon to push the liquid through the strainer. Discard what is leftover in the strainer.
Rim the glasses with sugar (see note 3). Pour the margaritas into the glasses over ice. Garnish with lime wedges and a few blueberries (optional). Enjoy!
Note 1 - Simple Syrup Ratio: Simple syrup is sugar dissolved in water. This recipe uses simple syrup that is equal parts water and sugar (1:1 ratio). There are other variations that have a higher sugar to water ratio. If you aren't sure what the ratio of your simple syrup is, don't sweat it. To be safe, you can always start with less simple syrup. Taste the margarita. Then add more if needed!
Note 2 - Strain: You can skip the straining step if you wish. The margarita will just contain more texture from the blueberries.
Note 3 - Rim Glasses: To rim the glasses, rub a lime wedge around the edge of the glass. Then immediately dip the rim into sugar. That is it!
